EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 26, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse took care of their opponent Robert Morris with a strong fourth quarter, pulling away to earn a 13-8 win Wednesday in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. The victory propels the Mount to 3-1 this season.

Madison Harmening had her best offensive performance of the season, equaling a career-high with four goals and adding an assist for a five point day. Mackenzi Furlong added a hat trick of three goals, and Anna McQuay and Anna Salerno earned multi-goal efforts. Brooke Molchanoff finished with three points, contributing a pair of assists and a goal.

The Mountaineers won the possession battle, edging the Colonials in draw controls 13-11 and winning 15 ground balls to RMU's 12. Molly Molchanoff won seven draw controls to lead the Mount individually. Hailey Chester forced three Colonials turnovers with Mackey Fick forcing two.

Even numbered quarters favored the Mount in the contest. After trailing 2-1 following the first 15 minutes, the visitors secured their best offensive segment with six goals to take a 7-5 lead to the locker rooms. Furlong kicked off a 5-0 run, with Harmening scoring three straight goals to punctuate the outburst.

In the second half, RMU rallied to pull within 9-8 entering the fourth. The Mountaineers then pieced together their best defensive effort to seal the win. Limiting the Colonials to four shots for the entire quarter, goalie Camille Thomas turned aside three of them to keep Robert Morris off the board.
