Emmitsburg, Md. (February 23, 2025)--Despite starting the match with the doubles point, the Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Hampton at home on Sunday.
In doubles play,
Bella Pescatore and
Venus Tang earned a 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot over Serena Bryan and Diana Starodubtseva while
Ryan McCarthy and
Valentine Mudry captured a 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot over Jewel Aston Greene and Melis Sakiroglu.
In singles action, Pescatore fell in three sets to Bryan at No. 3 singles. The Mount was leading matches at No. 5 singles (Mudry) and No. 6 singles (McCarthy) when Hampton clinched the match.
The Mountaineers will be back in action at Morgan State on March 8.
