MOUNT UPDATE
  • Beginning the 2025 season on the road, the Mountaineers earned an 11-10 victory over the Towson Tigers. The game marked the first 1-0 start for the team since 2022, when that squad also defeated Towson.
  • MK Allingham and Anna Salerno posted hat tricks in the opener. Allingham was efficient in earning his first collegiate hat trick, scoring three times on five shots. Mackenzi Furlong, Madison Harmening, and Anna McQuay all scored for the Mountaineers.
  • The team won the draw control battle, 14-10, with Harmening and Shannon McTavish grabbing five possessions each for the team.
  • Camille Thomas made the start in goal and collected his first college win. The sophomore completed eight saves to help in the victory.
  • Mount St. Mary's did a good job procuring infractions out of their opponents, with Towson committing 21 fouls and eight cards. Five goals were of the free position variety, and five came as woman-up goals.

SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
  • Lafayette also comes into the game 1-0, defeating La Salle 10-9 in the season opener this past Wednesday. Sara Rogers was the leading goal scorer with a hat trick, and Sophia Spallone tallied three points via a pair of goals and an assist.
  • Defense had a productive opener with 15 shots on goal. Molly Terraciano won the contest with six saves, and the unit forced nine caused turnovers.
  • In 2024, the team went 5-11 and 2-7 in the Patriot League. League wins included Boston University and their archrival, Lehigh. Last year they did start 2-1, accruing wins over Wagner and Central Connecticut State.
