EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 25, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball returns home looking for their third win in a row, along with a .500 mark for November as they welcome UMES in a pre-Thanksgiving matinee.

THE LAST TIME OUT
- Mount St. Mary's took the Catholic Clash from Loyola for the second consecutive year, defeating the Greyhounds 69-50 last Thursday in Baltimore.
- Gabrielle Kennerly finished with 21 points for the Mount, followed by 13 by Giana Hoddinott. Wesleigh Ferguson led with nine rebounds, adding seven points.
- Defensive efforts have been top tier for the Mountaineers, limiting opponents to under 30 percent from the floor in the past three games. Opposing teams are also averaging just under 20 turnovers per game.
- Following Kennerly's 12 points per game to lead the team, scoring averages are almost an even spread. Hoddinott, Berlynn Carlson, and Mikaela Parris are between 5-6 points per game. Four members of the team are averaging between 4-5, a pair between 3-4, and three more between 2-3.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- UMES comes to Emmitsburg with a 4-4 record, defeating Cheyney, Monmouth, Loyola Chicago, and UMBC so far this season.
- Brianna Barnes leads the Hawks in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game. Ashanti Lynch also averages double figures with 11 points per contest.
- At a clip of 36.5 boards per game as a team, Kaliya Perry is the individual leader for rebounding at 6.7 a game.
- In their last meeting, Barnes registered 21 points while Lynch and Desi Taylor posted 11 each off the bench as the Hawks fell 81-62 to Princeton.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
- Wednesday marks the 21st time Mount St. Mary's and UMES have battled each other.
- The Mount took the first 12 contests, including a 109-51 score in the inaugural match back in 1980.
- UMES began to level the series with their first win in 2014 and are 5-3 over the Mountaineers since. The Hawks also took the most recent meeting, 69-52, in Princess Anne in 2023.
