EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 31, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's cross-country heads to the Empire State for their fourth running in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships Saturday. Â

MOUNT UPDATE:Â The team competed in a variety of meets during the season, with many of the competitors starting their season at either the 5K Duals hosted by the Mount or the Cantello Invite hosted by Navy. Â Over the course of the fall, the men's best finish was a team third placement and one runner placing in 11
th at the James Madison Invitational in October. The women came in second at the James Madison Invitational and were led by
Laura McConville in three out of the four races of the season. She placed in the top ten in every race she has competed in this year

Among the men's top qualifiers wereÂ

EJ Villaver who each led the men's team in at least one event. On the women's side, the other leading scorer was
Chloe McCarthy who ran for the first time in two years at the 5K Duals

LAST YEAR AT THE MAAC CHAMPIONSHIPS: Mount St. Mary's took seventh place in the men's race and 12
th in the women's race during the 2024 MAAC Championships.Â
Niels Peeters had the top finish for all Mount runners, coming in 18
th place with a time of 24:46.7 in the 8K.Â
Elizabeth Freymann led the women with a 22:30.0 in the 6K to beat her own personal record from the year before.

UP NEXT:Â Select individuals who qualify can compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on November 14. After that, the track & field program transitions to the indoor season, beginning December 6 with the Bucknell Bison Opener.
