EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 29, 2025) - Mount St. Mary's was awarded a penalty in the closing minutes of a Wednesday contest with Canisius.
Graham Dougald converted the chance as the Mountaineers picked up a critical three points in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.
A hard tackle in the box by the Golden Griffins' Kiryl Dubins induced the penalty award from center referee Sergio Gonzalez. Dougald - the Mount's primary taker of the penalty - earned his fourth goal from the spot this year. The senior now leads the team with five goals scored.Â
On defense, the Mount denied four on-target opportunities for Canisius. Goalkeeper
Julian Marcos collected three saves and a defender added a fourth.Â
With the win, Mount St. Mary's now has 10 points in the MAAC standings, and as of the game going final, stand in a three-way tie for sixth and the final tournament spot. Their record is now at 3-7-5 with a 3-4-1 league record.Â
This Saturday (Nov. 1), the Mount heads to play Iona in New Rochelle, New York. Â
