EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 24, 2025) – With four matches left on the schedule, teams across the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) are jostling for one of six spots in the postseason tournament. Mount St. Mary's is among those in the mix and will look to boost its chances with a positive result Saturday at Fairfield.
MOUNT UPDATE
Graham Dougald scored in the second minute of last Saturday's contest against Quinnipiac, and the Mount's defense did the rest in a 1-0 shutout victory. Dougald netted his fourth goal of the season, assisted by
Bobby Marsteller and
Luciano Schiaffini. Goalkeeper
Julian Marcos anchored the back line with seven saves to preserve the clean sheet.
In the MAAC standings, the Mount sits one point outside playoff position, tied with Marist and Manhattan. The race remains tight, with teams from third through 12th place separated by just six points.
SCOUTING THE STAGS
Fairfield enters the weekend in strong position for a tournament berth, currently holding third place with 12 points. The Stags are coming off a 1-0 road victory over Manhattan. Offensively, they've tallied 20 goals while conceding 14. Sean Albritton and Alex Vaz share the team lead with five goals apiece, while Cameron Gerber has contributed a team-high seven assists. Goalkeeper Evan Chomow anchors the defense with 54 saves and an .806 save percentage.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
The all-time series is even at one win apiece. Fairfield claimed the inaugural meeting in 2022, while the Mount earned a 2-1 victory in 2023, courtesy of a 90th-minute game-winner from Ammit Bhogal.
