EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 29, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer head coach Melissa Sherwood is departing Emmitsburg to accept the position of head coach at St. Bonaventure University in the Atlantic-10 Conference.
 
In three seasons as the Mount's head coach, Sherwood guided the Mountaineers to a 16-24-13 record, while going 10-15-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play. The program's biggest achievement in her tenure was advancing to the 2023 MAAC Semifinals after getting past Niagara University on penalty kicks in the opening round. The triumph was the first postseason victory in Mount women's soccer history.
