Mount Bowling Defeats Defending Champions in 4-1 Day

EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 17, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's posted solid numbers across the first day of the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Delaware. Winning four games out of five, the Mountaineers scored 1,000 or better in four games as well. In the competitive field of almost 40 teams, the team holds 10th place.
 
Highlighting the four victories was the second game of the slate. Rolling their highest total of the day at 1,041, Mount St. Mary's toppled #2 ranked Jacksonville State. The win is the program's first against the defending national champions.
 
Along with the triumph over the Gamecocks, the team registered wins over #23 Felician, Adelphi, and Holy Family. Their only blemish came in the last game on the docket. Despite rolling a 1,035, the #5 Red Wolves of Arkansas State prevailed by rolling a 1,051.
