EMMITSBURG, Md. (July 2, 2024) – Emmit's Brigade, a Name, Image, and Likeness Collective (NIL), has been launched to support Mount St. Mary's University's student-athlete population.

Emmit's Brigade leverages the cumulative power of alumni, fans, and local businesses to assist Mount St. Mary's student-athletes in excelling during their time on Mary's Mountain and beyond.  

Emmit's Brigade authorizes businesses, organizations, and individual supporters to secure working relationships with their favorite teams and student-athletes. The organization helps to manage appearances, meet-and-greets, charitable tasks, social media activation, speaking engagements, and other commercial enterprises.  

As with all NIL entities, Emmit's Brigade is independent from Mount St. Mary's University. NCAA rules allow alumni, fans and other donors to compensate student-athletes through the Emmit's Brigade but such compensation: 

• May not be considered "pay for play," 

• Must be in exchange for services provided by the student-athlete, and 

• May not be a recruiting inducement for a student-athlete to enroll or continue to attend Mount St. Mary's University
