Towson, Md. (April 7, 2024)—Mount St. Mary's women's tennis was toppled by Towson, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
The Mountaineers captured two of the three doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead in the match.
Bella Pescatore and
Adriana Barney posted a 6-4 win over Mya Spencer and Sania Suchinsky at No. 3 doubles while
Ana Alvarez-Storni and
Margherita Trolese clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play,
Sofia Kostirko defeated Spencer, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) at No. 1 singles, but the Tigers won the other five singles matches to secure the victory.
The Mount returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Rider on Wednesday, April 10.
