Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (April 7, 2024)--Mount St. Mary's dropped the rubber game of its three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series at Marist, 10-3, on Sunday afternoon.

It was Bowles who gave the Mount the early lead in the top of the first inning.
Julia Vincent reached on an infield single to set the table for Bowles, who followed by driving the ball over the center field fence for a 2-0 Mount advantage. Bowles leads the Mount with three long balls this year. Marist (25-10, 7-2 MAAC) responded with a four-run outburst in the bottom of the first to take back the lead. The Mount (7-21, 1-7 MAAC) trimmed the deficit to 4-3 with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Zoe Truxon doubled and moved to third on an
Elizabeth King base hit.
Lia Festa's RBI fielder's choice plated Truxon to make it a one-run game. Marist was able to respond right away again, scoring six times in the bottom of the fourth to take control of the game.
Sophia Schmehl allowed four earned runs in three innings of relief for the Mountaineers while
Amaya Bowman allowed one run in 2.2 innings out of the bullpen.
