Alyssa Alexander were both recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) with national awards. Alexander is a First Team All-Regional selection while Varela is an All-Rookie member.
Alexander served as the veteran presence of a roster of freshmen and sophomores. Serving as the majority anchor for Baker play and a plurality of traditional games, she boasts an overall fill percentage of 88.3 percent for traditional and 85.4 percent for Bakers. The fill percentage for traditional play marks the highest for any Mount bowler. She tallied a strike 520 times out of 991 attempts, knocking all 10 down for the first try 52.5 percent of the time.
Varela excelled in her first season with the Mountaineers, earning fill percentages over 80 percent at both levels of competition. The Brick, N.J. freshman finished the year with 322 strikes and 223 spares for the campaign, converting more than 40 percent of strikes and 60 percent of spares. She earned some experience at the anchor position, completing 41 frames in the fifth spot.
Mount St. Mary's finished the 2024 season with a record of 74-34.
