LEWISBURG, PA. (April 10th, 2024) – Jakob Foster started a strong four innings allowing a lonely hit, zero runs, three walks, and two strikeouts. After relieving Foster, the Bison were able to string together three hits and two runs to win the game, 3-2.
A scoreless game through the first three innings until the Mountaineers broke through for two runs in the top of the fourth inning. With two outs,
Efrain Correa, Jr. started the rally with a single to center field. A bunt single by
Aiden Tierney put runners on first and second.
Evan Meier stepped to the plate to rope a two rbi triple to right field, 2-0.
Max Moore took the hill in the fifth inning, threw to four batters, and allowed one hit. The Bison scored two runs in the sixth inning to knot the game, leaving three on base, 2-2.
The Mountaineers put runners on first and third base in the seventh, unable to cash in leaving the game tied headed into the eighth inning.
Bucknell put runners on first and second with no outs, able to cash in on the opportunity with a run on an RBI sacrifice fly to left field. Mount St. Mary's was unable to mount a comeback in crunch time, losing tonight's game by a narrow margin, 3-2.
