PORTLAND, Ore. (March 29th, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's couldn't spark the bats tonight in Portland, Oregon as the Pilot's ace was able to throw a shutout, ending tonight's late game affair 4-0.
Brendan Yagesh highlighted the team's performance after pitching 5 2/3 innings: allowed seven hits, two runs, two walks, with eight punch outs (4.26 ERA). The sophomore showed command on the hill after pitching out of a loaded bag seventh inning, fanning consecutive batters to survive the frame.
The Pilots took control of the game in the second inning after scoring two runs via a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to left field.
The Mountaineers struggled finding stride throughout the game, leaving two on base the length of the contest. Both Mount hits came in the top of the first inning after
