EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 17th, 2024) – Identical box scores through the first five innings of the game loomed an explosion of runs in the sixth. St. Bonaventure rattled off eight runs, and four more in the seventh and ninth to put the game out of reach for the Mount, the result of today's game, 17-8.
The Bonnies rung first with a grand slam in the second inning, 4-0.
Shane Wockley, 3-5 at the plate today with two home-runs, answered with an RBI single, scoring Seeker. Next to bat,
Josh Braxton hit a three-run moon-shot over right field, his second homer of the season to knot the game at 4, through two innings.
Homer's by both teams in the fourth had the game deadlocked at 5 through the fifth inning. The Bonnies took control in the sixth with an eight run, six hit inning, re-claiming the lead, 13-5.
Seeker responded with a nicely placed single to left field to score two for the Mount in the bottom of the frame, 13-7. Wockley ended scoring in the bottom of the ninth with a solo home-run over the scoreboard.
