EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 15th, 2024) – A four run seventh inning credited by a three-run home-run withholds a Mount victory today, 7-6. The Mountaineers put up seven runs on 12 hits in today's contest.
After starting from behind, the Mount knotted the game in the second inning via a solo shot by
Efrain Correa, Jr.
The Mount kept pace after scoring two more the next inning via a
Shane Wockley two run homer over the right field fence, scoring Landwehr, 3-1.
Four scoreless innings from the Mount left the door open for the Bonnies to shift momentum. St. Bonaventure rattled off six runs through four innings after stringing together two home-runs and a double down the left field line, 7-3 headed into the bottom of the seventh.
Jayson Kramer answered the call with a two-run shot over right field, scoring Correa, Jr., 7-5. Keeping the Bonnies scoreless,
Scott Seeker followed the next inning by legging out an infield single. Wockley put himself on second base via a single and a mishandled ball by the right fielder, runners now on 2
nd and 3
rd. Seeker scored on the next pitch after a wild pitch, 7-6.
JB Manarchuck pitching out of the top of the ninth, gave his team an opportunity to tie or win the game. A difficult to field grounder by the first baseman ended the game, 7-6.
