Mount St. Mary’s Women’s Basketball Concludes Season at MAAC Quarterfinals

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (March 14, 2024) – In the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) quarterfinals, Mount St. Mary's fell to the Siena Saints 80-57, concluding their 2023-24 season. The Mount finishes the campaign with a record of 14-17.

Jessica Tomasetti had a strong second half to lead the Mount in scoring with 17 points. Jo Raflo and Isabella Hunt also tallied 10 or more. Jaedyn Jamison was strong on the glass again with an eight rebound day.

For only the second time this year, the Mount fell despite leading in the rebounding category. The team pulled in 41 with 19 coming from the offensive side. Another positive was drawing contact and attempts at the foul line, earning 21 attempts and hitting 15 of them.

Siena was led by Ahniysha Jackson with 22 points, including five three-pointers. The Saints rode a 47 percent shooting effort to the win.

It was a wire-to-wire finish for Siena, who jumped out to score the first five points of the game and maintained a lead of no less than three after that. A 6-0 run to complete the opening period placed the advantage into double digits. Though the Mount dug deep to try and carve into the deficit, they only made it as far as 24-15 before Siena knocked down a pair of triples. The Saints went up by 18 by halftime.

Continuing to play hard until the end, the Mount pulled the contest back down to 13, led by Rosa Revueltas contributing a strong third quarter of five points, two rebounds, and three drawn fouls. Both teams got up some shots in the fourth, with Tomasetti punctuating her fourth season with a 3-for-3 final frame.
