EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 12th, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's fell in a tight contest tonight after a 3 run ninth inning rally put the Terps on top, tonight's final 6-4.
Scott Seeker set the tone early with a solo rocket over the right field fence in the bottom of the first, 1-0. Joint efforts on the hill by

Maximus McCrary,
Jackson Snyder, and
JB Manarchuck kept the Terps scoreless through the first six innings. Manarchuck highlighted the defensive stand as the sophomore allowed zero hits and no runs through seven batters, while striking out the side in the sixth.
Tyler Long added to the score with a solo homer over the right field fence to send the Mount two up headed into the seventh inning, 2-0.
Maryland knotted it up in the top of the seventh after stringing together two runs on two hits, 2-2.
Aiden Tierney fueled the offense in the bottom of the frame with a double to right center.
Evan Smith followed with an infield single and a stolen bag to put runners on 2
nd and 3
rd.
Shane Wockley answered the call with a two RBI single through the gap on the left side, reclaiming the lead, 4-2.
Maryland added a run in the top of the eighth with a single to right center to cut the deficit in half, 4-3 headed to the top of the ninth.
Two passed balls and a wild pitch allowed the Terps the momentum they needed to make a strong push in the final inning. A score off the wild pitch and an error allowed two runs to score, 5-4. A single through the left side allowed the last run of the game, putting the Mount in a very tough spot to rally in the bottom of the frame.
The Mountaineers came up short in the end, dealing the contest to the Terps, 6-4.
