Mount Men’s Soccer Adds Seven New Players for Spring Semester

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 6, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's men's soccer coach Brett Teach has brought in seven new student-athletes for the 2024 spring semester. These players are preparing to compete in spring exhibitions and continue onto the regular season, which begins in August.

Timofey Barlow | Richmond, Va. | Douglas Southall Freeman (Radford) | Forward

Barlow enters his second season of collegiate soccer, following a one-year stint with the Radford Highlanders. Before college days, he earned three letters for his high school team while also playing basketball and volleyball and competing in wrestling. He also had club stints with the Richmond Kickers, Richmond Strikers, and FC Richmond. Last year he signed on with Virginia Beach City FC of the National Premier Soccer League.

Graham Dougald | Earlysville, Va. | Albemarle (VCU) | Midfield

Dougald played under Coach Teach for two seasons with the Rams, serving in a bench role. For the 2023 Atlantic 10 regular season champions, he logged appearances in five contests, including a few minutes against top-ranked Marshall. As a freshman, Dougald made it onto the pitch twice for game action.

Ittetsu Hirai | Saitama, Japan | Urawa East (VCU) | Goalkeeper

The first of five players to have international roots, Hirai also becomes the first Mountaineer since at least 2006 to hail from the island nation of Japan. The goalkeeper also comes to the Mount from VCU, where he was a three-year member of the team. He comes to Emmitsburg with two years of eligibility remaining.

Jack Kehoe | Dublin, Ireland | St. Mary's College | Defensive/Midfield

Making his way across the Atlantic, Kehoe also marks a first for the program since 2006, being from the Republic of Ireland. The Dublin native possesses first team experience in Ireland's 1st division and attended St. Mary's College in the capital city prior to coming stateside.

Donghyun Kim | Incheon, South Korea| Global Vision Christian School MG | Forward

Kim becomes the second member of the Mountaineers from the Korean peninsula alongside All-MAAC Third Team performer Junee Lee. The freshman from the country's third largest city had an impressive senior season of high school, registering 17 goals and eight assists. He was the top scorer for his team and ranked third in his high school league.

Julian Marcos | Tandil, Argentina | Colegio Estudiantes de la Plata | Goalkeeper

From the soccer hotbed of Argentina, Marcos is the second netminder in the spring class along with Hirai. He comes to Emmitsburg from the province of Buenos Aires, two hours south of the homonymous city. Marcos played four seasons for Estudiantes de la Plata before graduating last year.

Fabian Perez | Bound Brook, N.J. | Carmen Lyra (Louisiana Christian) | Midfielder

Although Perez has a home in the United States, his roots are Costa Rican, where he has been a member of the country's U20 national team. He also played one year with Louisiana Christian, scoring 12 points for the Wildcats en route to a school's conference championship and receiving a Red River Athletic Conference All-Freshman nod.

A list of spring exhibitions will be made available in the coming days.
