Starkville, MS. (February 29th, 2024) – The Mountaineers battled through seven innings against Mississippi State.
Tommy Moore led the first four innings on the mound allowing a stingy four hits, two runs, while fanning two batters. The result of tonight's game, 12-2 Mississippi State.
State was the first to score, going ahead 2-0 after the first inning via a single through the right side.
A quiet middle innings led to a Mount score in the top of the fourth.
Jayson Kramer batted
Tyler Long in with a single up the middle.
At the top of the eighth, the Mount pushed to close the four-run gap. With runners on first and second, Long rang the receiving end of an RBI after roping a single to left field allowing
Braden Ramirez to score, 5-2.
A few Mount pitching changes led to an explosive bottom-frame scoring seven runs on three hits for the Bulldogs.
