MOUNT JOY, Pa. (February 11, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's bowling won its fourth consecutive Mount Shootout title Sunday and reset the school record for highest Baker average in a day in the process. The #13 Mountaineers defeated #4 North Carolina A&T State to clinch a championship game berth, swept Dominican in the second round warmup, and #25 Niagara in the title bout.
Across the final day, the Mount shot 218.14, breaking the Baker average mark for the second time this season.
Trishelle Leal Uribe led the way, averaging 23.37 per frame.
Gianna McGahan was next among peers with a 22.37, followed by
Aliza Shirk at 21.41,
Alyssa Alexander at 21.35, and
Piper Chalmers with a 20.55.
A pair of 226 games helped the team surge ahead of the Aggies in the opening round. They would go ahead 3-1, then advance with a 231 game six. Against Dominican, the Mountaineers tallied three games over 200 in the four game sweep. However, they saved the best for last facing the Purple Eagles, registering scores of 247, 213, 255, and 224 to take the crown in four games.
