MOUNT JOY, Pa. (February 10, 2024) – After honoring
Alyssa Alexander on Senior Day, Mount St. Mary's bowling went 5-0 during day two of the Mount Shootout.
The Mountaineers finished qualifying with a 9-1 record and in second place with a total pinfall of 10,433. Entering bracket play as the No. 2 seed, Sunday's best-of-seven opens against North Carolina A&T State with the winner clinching an automatic berth in the tournament championship.
Four of the five contests surpassed the 1,000 pin mark as the Mount defeated Mercyhurst, New Jersey City, Dominican, Bryant, and Chestnut Hill. Alexander had the highest average on the team with a 213 across five games, good for 12
th in the field.
Piper Chalmers (207.4) and
Trishelle Leal Uribe (203.6) also carried a plus-200 average for the day.
