EMMITSBURG, Md. (December 12, 2024) – To kick off the 2025 recruiting class, Mount St. Mary's men's soccer head coach
Brett Teach announces the signing of five players.
Kevin Rivera | Forward | Marietta, Ga. | Marietta
A top level recruit from the state of Georgia, Rivera is a two-time Offensive Player of the Year from 2021 and 2022, and MVP for 2023. He competed for both Marietta High School and for Concorde Fire Platinum on the Club Circuit. With his club squad in the Elite Club National League, Rivera posted 128 goals over five seasons. In addition to his athletic prowess, he also has earned numerous honors for academics.
"Kevin is an outstanding attacking player for one of the top ECNL teams in the country." Teach said. "He is a dynamic attacker who is very dangerous on either flank. He excels in 1v1 moments and has the composure to finish off his chances. Kevin is also an outstanding student and will add very positively to our team culture."
Ryan Collins | Goalkeeper | Midland, Ga. | Columbus
Also hailing from the Peach State, Collins played in the net for Columbus High School, helping the Blue Devils become 3A state champions and Southeast Conference Champions. The MVP of the team in 2024, he also served as team captain on the way to earning 3A Player of the Year honors. In addition to his work at Columbus High, Collins also competed for Concorde Fire Platinum in club soccer alongside Rivera.
"Ryan is one of the top keepers in the south this year." Said Teach. "He led his high school to their first ever state title and his club team, Concorde, to the ECNL national tournament. He is athletic and very comfortable with the ball at his feet which is critical for how we play here."
Thomas Dix | Defense | Cape Charles, Va. | Northampton
Dix comes to the Mount after being the Regional and District Player of the Year in Virginia in 2024, to go along with three All-State First Team selections from 2022 through 2024. The all-state acknowledgments coincide with All-Region and All-District honors those same years. Northampton won the VHSL Class 1 championship his junior year, were runner-up his sophomore year, and won two Region A titles. Along the way, Dix played club soccer for Beach FC.
"Thomas came to our ID camp and was very impressive. He has quality on the ball and is able to defend in 1v1 situations. He is very versatile and can play in multiple roles throughout the team." Teach said.
Maciej Majcherczyk | Defensive Midfielder | Virginia Beach, Va. | Princess Anne
Majcherczyk was a member of the 2022 state championship at Princess Anne High School. His individual accolades include a Second Team All-State honor, also with First Team All-Region and All-Tidewater honors. A dual sport athlete, Majcherczyk also competed in volleyball, winning a pair of All-Region recognitions. He was on Beach FC with two of his fellow recruits, helping his team pull on an undefeated season.
"Maciej is a player I have watched since his sophomore year in high school." Said Teach. "He is a very talented player who has led both his club team and his high school team to championships. He is one of the top players in the ECNL this year."
Michal Korba | Midfield | Virginia Beach, Va. | Princess Anne
Attending the same high school as Majcherczyk, Korba was also part of the championship high school program, helping Princess Anne achieve the Virginia Class 5 State Championship. Individual accolades include making the All-State team in 2023, along with an All-Region, All-Tidewater, and All-District selection. Like Dix, Korba was also a member of Beach FC for club soccer and played in Legia Warsaw in his native Poland.
"Michal is an exciting attacking player." Teach said. "He is creative and has the ability to both score goals and create goal scoring opportunities for others. Like Maciej, he has been instrumental for both Beach FC and Princess Anne high school's championship pedigree."
Mount St. Mary's went to its first postseason in 16 years in 2024, earning the #8 seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament.
