EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 3, 2024) – Going 3-2 on day two of the Niagara Fall Open, Mount St. Mary's bowling was able to maintain their third place effort, carried over from Saturday's opener.
Victories over Hilbert and Saint Vincent propelled the Mount to their three wins. Competing in Baker play, the Mount started 2-0, first taking down the Hawks and then the Bearcats. Fellow ranked challengers Merrimack and host Niagara were able to overcome the Mountaineers, keeping them out of the tournament championship picture.
A best-of-seven rematch with the Bearcats was easily secured by the Mount, with SVC only managing to tie one of the games. A 203 score proved the clincher for third.
Through 33 games this season, the Mount stands 21-12 for the year.
In two weeks, the team makes the short trek to the Baltimore area for the Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State. The two-day tournament begins November 16.
