EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 22, 2024) – Facing a challenging field and a couple of Top 25 teams, Mount St. Mary's bowling held their own on the opening day of the Garden State Classic. Going 3-2 including a win over ranked Delaware State, the Mount stands in the upper half of the standings against a competitive field.
Recording a total pinfall of 4,778 for the day, good for an average of 191.1, the Mountaineers are ninth out of 20 teams.
Starting the day 2-0, Mount defeated Coppin State before rolling a 1,034 to topple the 23
rd ranked Hornets. After falling to #6 North Carolina A&T State, the Mountaineers enjoyed their best round of the afternoon, winning 1081-803. Felician proved a formidable foe in the final match.
Top ranked Jacksonville State leads the field, followed by Nebraska, Youngstown State, Vanderbilt, and Niagara rounding out the first five squads.
