EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 5, 2024) – Wins over D'Youville and Wright State to open their season were pivotal to Mount St. Mary's bowling ending day one of the Mercyhurst Invitational in sixth place.
The first-ever bout with Wright State was the Mount's high water mark in terms of scoring with a 956-940 win. The team had 900-plus efforts against Kutztown and Niagara as well.
In the traditional format,
Leah Varela had the best day, finishing with a 997 series (199.4 average). This included a top individual game of 232 and a 213.
Trishelle Leal Uribe also earned a 216 game on the way to a 946 series (189.2 average).
Mikalah Carter subbed in for the finale against the Purple Eagles and submitted a 207 in her collegiate debut.
