LAS VEGAS, Nev. (January 9, 2024) – Victories against #12 Tulane and #18 Newman highlighted Mount St. Mary's bowling second day on the lanes at the 2024 Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic. Consistent scores in the 900-1000 range landed the Mountaineers in eighth place before bracket play in the tournament's ultimate rounds.
Using a total of seven different bowlers, the Moun used several combinations of teammates to achieve their scores. Sophomore
Trishelle Leal Uribe had the best day, rolling three games for an average of 213.67. This included scores of 225 and 222 later in the session. Fellow sophomore
Sierra Calo along with senior
Alyssa Alexander bowled in all five rounds. Calo averaged 193 with Alexander earning a 192.
The Mount defeated #12 Tulane in the opening game, followed by a win over Jackson State to improve to a 6-1 start. After a six-point defeat to #7 Nebraska, the Mountaineers split contests with #18 Newman and #19 Valparaiso.

Bracket play begins at 11:00 AM Eastern, 8:00 AM Pacific at the South Point Hotel & Casino Bowling Arena. With three victories, Mount can finish in fifth place for the tournament. Their first test will be seventh place, #9 ranked Stephen F. Austin.
