EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 26, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's bowling had a perfect 5-0 opening day at the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa. Friday. Among the five victories for the #15 Mountaineers were a triumph over #8 Duquesne and a win over Saint Vincent College, who also received votes in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 poll.
Alyssa Alexander had the strongest day among Mountaineers in the traditional format. Averaging 210 for the day, the senior saved her best effort for the contest with the Dukes, logging a 258.
Trishelle Leal Uribe also finished top 10 in the field with a 936 series.
Alyssa Balest was a major factor in the Saint Vincent win with a 255 game.
In terms of total pinfall, the Mount sits in second place behind Duquesne by a small margin of 32 pins.
