EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 14, 2024) – By the margin of one pin, Mount St. Mary's bowling took its second tournament championship of 2023-24, emerging as the victors of the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
The one-day event determined a winner by total pinfall with no head-to-head matchups. Over the course of the tournament, each of the 14 teams played four traditional games and 16 consecutive Baker matches.
The Mountaineers finished above 950 in three of the four traditional games, topping out at 1,008 in the opening salvo. Freshman
Leah Varela and sophomore
Trishelle Leal Uribe made the all-tournament team for their efforts.
This weekend's tournament win joins the Mount's victory at the Golden Bear Invitational last autumn.
Next weekend, the Mount travels to New Castle, Delaware for the Northeast Classic.
