EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 28, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's men's soccer takes to the road for their third Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match, facing the Saint Peter's Peacocks.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE: Two first half goals by the Manhattan Jaspers held firm in a 2-1 defeat for the Mount on September 23^rd at Waldron Family Stadium. Markus Nilsen registered the team's goal with a penalty kick in the 79^th minute. In the league standings, the 1-1 Mountaineers are tied for fifth in the league goal, level with the Siena Saints.
 
ABOUT SAINT PETER'S: The Peacocks continue to seek their first MAAC victory, dropping a 2-1 result to Marist and a 3-1 to Siena. In between those contests, the team picked up their first win in a non-conference showdown with Binghamton. Goalkeeper Pedro Alves leads the league with saves per game, stopping 5.75 shots on average.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: In six previous matches, Mount St. Mary's holds the upper hand, four wins to two. Saturday marks the first trip to Jersey City since 2000, when they took a 4-0 victory. The Mountaineers have won both games since the series resumed in 2021, one year before the pair became conference foes.
 
UP NEXT: One week from Saturday (Oct. 7), the Mount returns to Waldron Family Stadium to face Marist. Game time is 7 p.m.
