Abby Osmeyer scored a career-high eight goals on Saturday, capitalizing on the Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse team's numerous opportunities. Eight players in total found the back of the net at least once during the game as the Mount rolled to an 18-7 victory over the La Salle Explorers.

th consecutive game.
Draw controls helped bring about more opportunities for goals. The Mountaineers won the battle at center circle 19 of 29 times, including the first seven in a row.
Logan Cook was phenomenal at establishing possession with eight draw controls, followed by
Abigail Zeigenfuse with four. This allowed the Mount to outshoot the Explorers by a 35-23 margin.
On defense the team forced La Salle to commit 19 turnovers, 14 of which were directly caused by Mount players.
Margaret Lonergan led the way with three caused turnovers, one of four athletes to have more than one.
Madison Bradley finished the contest with eight saves.
La Salle got on the board first with a goal two minutes in. The Mount's response was swift as goals by Furlong and Osmeyer exchanged the lead in the space of a minute. That kicked off a 5-0 run spanning across the first and second quarters. After the Explorers scored to end that run, junior
Sydney Barnett and sophomore
Anna Salerno kept the pace going for their first collegiate scores which started a 4-0 run. Osmeyer capped off the half with goals four and five, helping the Mountaineers to a 9-3 halftime lead.
More of the same awaited the home side in the second half. The duo of Furlong and Osmeyer struck again and defense was particularly sharp, keeping La Salle off the scoresheet for almost the entire third period. Zeigenfuse added a late tally as the Mount went into the final frame up 13-4.
Osmeyer's seventh forced the first of two moments that the Mount went up double digits.
Molly Molchanoff stopped a 2-0 Explorers run with her second on the season. That set off another run for the offense, this time scoring three unanswered to stay above a 10-goal margin for the rest of the game.
The Mount is now 1-3 for 2023, while La Salle continues to search for their first win at 0-5.
