Emmitsburg, Md. (March 25, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's lost game one to Canisius in a game where much just wasn't going their way, 15-1. Pitcher
Cooper Adams threw phenomenally through the first 6.0 innings allowing six hits, one run, and sat a dozen batters down.
The game started out 1-1 after leadoff batter and second baseman
Tristan McAlister started the bottom of the first with a single to right field.
Scott Seeker drew a walk putting McAlister in scoring position with Aidan Tierney at the plate. Tierney lined a single to centerfield notching himself an RBI as the speedster McAlister was able to score.
Nothing much going after the first, credit the silence to the two aces in Adams and Matt Duffy. The head-to-head battle between pitchers kept it a stale mate for four straight innings until the Mount let up eight runs in the seventh. From then on, the Golden Griffins took control and never let go.
