Box Score Hershey, Pa.--The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team was edged by Siena, 4-3, in the team's first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Sunday night at the Hershey Racquet Club in Hershey, Pa.

The Saints swept the three doubles matches to secure the first point of the match.  The Mount's top pair of Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore fell to Alexa Wilson and Meagan Brown, 6-4.  At No. 2 doubles, Victoria Papadopoulou and Shirley Liang fell to Shelby Madeiro and Maanya Viswanath, 6-3, while Emma Boggiali and Laia Giralt defeated the Mount's Adriana Barney and Ana Alvarez-Storni, 6-2, at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Papadopoulou won in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, over Brown at the No. 1 singles position while Policare rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Giralt at the No. 2 spot.  Pescatore provided the Mount's third point with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win over Viswanath at No. 4 singles.  Siena's Wilson downed Barney at No. 3 singles while Madeliine De Faber-Schumacher won at No. 6 singles against Alvarez-Storni, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.  At No. 5 singles, the Mount's Shirley Liang was edged by Emma Boggiali, 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-1.

The Mount returns to the courts on Tuesday, March 21, at Shepherd.
