Emmitsburg, Md. (March 17, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's kept control of this game at home the entire way as they won by a score 12-5.
Scott Seeker continues his monstrous tear in this early part of the season by knocking three moonshots over center field. The Mountaineers never trailed in this one.
Together Seeker,
Brady Drawbaugh, and
David Stirpe combined for 10 of the Mount's 13 hits. Seeker hit three homeruns and a double, Stirpe with a three-run tater and went 3-4 at the plate, while Drawbaugh went 3-3 and drew an intentional walk.
The Mount went up early 3-0 after four thanks to RBIs from Stirpe,
Brayden Foster, and
Tyler Long. Two solo shots from Danny Manion and Jack Biscailuz of the Bonnies brought the game within one, 3-2 after the top of the fifth.
After the consecutive homeruns by the Bonnies, Seeker and Drawbaugh showed a couple bat flips of their own after hitting solo shots in back-to-back innings in the fifth and sixth. Seeker came back to the plate to hit a two-run shot in the seventh. With two strikes and a change in pitchers midway through the count, Stirpe cranked a three-run homerun to increase the lead by eight, 11-3.
Seeker decided he wasn't finished after hitting his third and final homerun over centerfield in the bottom of the eighth, 12-3. The Bonnies scored two runs in the ninth, but with the explosion of bats late in the game for the Mount, there was no catching up.
Cooper Adams recorded his third win of the year (3-0) after pitching seven innings, allowed three runs and tallied eight strikeouts.
