Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (March 16, 2023)--Mount St. Mary's cruised to a 7-0 win over visiting Nichols College on Thursday afternoon at the Mount Tennis Courts.  The Mountaineers improve to 2-4 on the season with the victory.

The Mount took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point.  Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore teamed up for a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles over Antonia Carrero and Jordan Knowles.  Victoria Papadopoulou and Shirley Liang downed Charis Vogler and Johanna Schroeder, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot while Adriana Barney and Stephanie Huseby earned a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles over Kelley Carlin and Camil Magrin.

In singles play, the Mount won all six matches in straight sets.  Papadopoulou was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles over Carrero with Policare downing Vogler, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2.  Ligan was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles over Schroeder with Ana Alvarez-Storni cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles over Knowles.  Ryan McCarthy won at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2, against Carlin with Huseby taking home a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles over Magrin.

The Mount will play its first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Sunday, March 19 against Siena.  The match will be played at the Hershey Racquet Club at 5:00 p.m.
