EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 3, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse senior Margaret Lonergan and men's soccer junior Anthony Milazzo received recognition from PNC Bank as the school's recipient of the Student Achiever Award. The pair were honored in a ceremony during the men's basketball game on January 26^th.
 
PNC Bank – a major sponsor of Mount Athletics – distributes these awards annually to student-athletes at numerous institutions nationwide. 
 
"Margaret and Anthony are well-rounded student athletes who demonstrate leadership in the classroom and on the field," said PNC Bank Regional President D. Jermaine Johnson. "It was my pleasure to be there to present their awards and congratulate both on their success in their sports and with their scholastic achievements."
 
Lonergan is from Bowie, Maryland and attended Elizabeth Seton High School. Last season as a defender for women's lacrosse, she earned First Team Northeast Conference honors and an All-Tournament Team selection during their championship run. Milazzo hails from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and is a midfielder for the men's soccer squad. He competed in 14 games, logging 422 minutes, and adding an assist against Lafayette for an improved 2022 team.
 
However, the PNC Student Achiever Award takes considerations beyond the fields of competition. The duo makes an impact in many aspects at the Mount, whether it be in the classroom, the community, and beyond.
