Box Score February 25, 2023—The  Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team was edged by Saint Joseph's, 4-3, on Saturday night in Philadelphia.  The Hawks won the final there singles matches to secure the victory.

The Hawks won two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point.  The Mount's Bella Pescatore and Amber Policare earned a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles over Anna Kirk and Stow Weiss.  Shirley Liang and Victoria Papadopoulou fell at No. 2 doubles by a 6-4 score.  The doubles point was decided at No. 3 with the Mount's Ana Alvarez-Storni and Adriana Barney falling in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-1) to Emily Elliott and Charlotte Kardonowy.

In singles play, Policare downed Kirk, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at the No.2 spot and Papadopoulou was a 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 winner over Weiss at No. 1.  Pescatore posted a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Sophia Amato at No. 4 singles to put the Mount up 3-1.  The Hawks, however, won at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 5 singles to rally for the win.  Liang dropped a hard-fought 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 decision to Fabiana Tort-Umpierre at No. 3.

The Mount is back in action on March 5 with a road match at Coastal Carolina.
