Mount Battles Loyola in Non-Conference Tilt

BALTIMORE, Md. (December 2, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball fell to the Loyola Greyhounds Saturday, 63-42, in the 44th edition of the Catholic Clash.

Jessica Tomasetti was the Mount's leading scorer with 13. Isabella Hunt scored six points to reach 500 for her collegiate career, and matched Jackie Christ in rebounding with four each. Jada Lee contributed eight points, and Jo Raflo added six.

The Greyhounds outpaced in the shooting percentages, 42 to 30 percent. The Mount was muscled on the glass, conceding 45 while netting 19. For the program, that marks the fewest rebounds since a 70-58 loss to Robert Morris in February 2017.

Loyola took control of the contest from the tip, scoring the first 11 points of the game. By the first quarter's end, the Greyhounds held a 16-4 lead and were ahead 16-5 on rebounds. The advantage extended to 25 points by halftime.

Undeterred by the tough start, the Mountaineers fought in the second half, doubling their point total in the third quarter, and matching that output in the final frame. Maddie Novak and Giana Hoddinott delivered three-point shots after coming off the bench.

Mount St. Mary's returns home Tuesday (Dec. 5) for a 7 p.m. tip against Bucknell.
