WOODBRIDGE, Va. (November 19, 2023) – The Mount bowling team captured two more wins Sunday at the Hawk Classic to go 8-5 at their toughest tournament to date. The Mountaineers conclude the fall semester a solid 23-11 and will resume their season January 8-10 when they host the Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic in Nevada.
The ladies opened the day with a traditional loss to No. 19 ranked Central Missouri before getting immediate revenge on the Jennies 4-1 in bracket play. The Mount repeated their 4-1 performance over Sacred Heart to secure ninth place out of 22 teams in the talented field. Sophomore
Sierra Calo led the team in their traditional match with a 215, while senior
Alyssa Alexander was right behind her with a 213. In baker play, the Mountaineers were paced by Calo once more with a sizzling 25.78 baker frame average. Freshman
Piper Chalmers continued her strong weekend with a 22.33.

The ninth place finish from MSM bested four teams ranked higher than them in the pre-season NTCA Coaches Poll. A new poll will be released in December.
