LYNCHBURG, Va. (October 20, 2023) – On Friday afternoon at Liberty University, the Mountaineers tennis duo of Sofia Kostirko and Margherita Trolese defeated a pairing from the University of Virginia at the ITA Regionals.
 
Kostirko and Trolese won the match by an 8-4 score over the Cavaliers' Blanca Pico Navarro and Nicole Kiefer. They move on in the regional bracket to face a pairing from either William & Mary or Georgetown at a time to be determined.
 
According to school records, the Mount women's tennis team has not faced Virginia in a head-to-head matchup.
