Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore Capture Doubles Title at Bucknell Invitational

DAY 2 RESULTS

Lewisburg, Pa. (September 3, 2022)—Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore captured the A draw doubles title to highlight day two of the Bucknell Invitational.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

In doubles competition, in the A Flight, Elliot Stevens and Jarrett Karnibad downed teammates Elliot Stevens and Giovanni Abriola, 6-2, to earn third place after each pair fell in the semifinals earlier in the day.
In the A singles draw, Filippos Zachiotis, Giovanni Abriola and Elliot Stevens all were downed in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
In the B flight, Nick Huynh and Jarrett Karnibad each moved on to the semifinals with victories over an opponent from Saint Francis U.
In C Flight singles, Ben Porto earned a win in the consolation draw.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore won the A Flight doubles title with a pair of wins on Saturday.The duo edged a pair from Bucknell, 7-6 (10-8) in the semifinals before cruising to a 6-2 win over a Saint Francis U tandem in the finals.
In the B doubles bracket, Ana Alvarez-Storni and Hannah Ward teamed for a victory over a pair from Lafayette.Riya Mathur and Adriana Barney went 1-1 on the day after posting a victory yesterday as a pair.
In the singles A flight, Victoria Papadopoulou advanced to Sunday's final with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 comeback win over Saint Francis U's Bente Vandeputte in the quarterfinals before earning a 6-4, 6-1 win over Bucknell's Tyne Miller in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's championship.Shirley Liang, Amber Policare and Bella Pescatore all won consolation draw victories on Saturday as well.
In the B flight singles, Adriana Barney advanced to Sunday's final with a pair of wins.Barney defeated Samantha Quezada of Saint Francis U, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.Teammate Ana Alvarez-Storni rolled b Ally Vollero of Lafayette in straight sets.Barney then advanced by default to the finals over Alvarez-Storni.

The tournament concludes on Sunday.
