SCOUTING THE MOUNT
At a record of 4-3, the Mount is coming off their best non-conference performance since the 2000 season, when they achieved the same mark. Victories came against Radford, George Washington, Bucknell and UMBC. Across the seven games, goals were almost even with 11 scores and 12 concessions.
Goals were spread out amongst seven players.
Ruben Kiers holds the team lead at three, with two coming in the win over the Colonials.
Jesus Salazar is the leading point earner, thanks mostly to assists. Of his 10 points, six were assists on teammates' goals, ranking him among the country's leaders. In the net,
Ethan Russell logged 45 saves with a .789 save percentage.
THE OPPONENTS
The Stags are an even 4-4, coming off a 6-0 loss to Harvard. Their four wins came at Navy and Bryant, and against Albany and Princeton. Two Fairfieldites – Raz Amir and Rasmus Sorensen Rejnhold – tie for the team lead with three goals apiece. Amir adds three assists for the points lead with nine. Opponents have outscored the Stags this year by a 13-9 margin.
Up in Buffalo, the Golden Griffins have earned three draws in a 1-3-3 record. Relying heavy on defense, Canisius possesses three shutouts with two of those games serving as 0-0 ties. Offense has come at a premium with two goals on the year – Julius Schoner in a 1-0 win over Stonehill and Reilly Boyer in a 1-1 draw with St. Bonaventure.
