EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 9, 2022) – The Mountaineers had four different players score two goals but were held scoreless in the fourth quarter as LIU picked up a 14-10 win. LIU got off to a fast start scoring two goals to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but the Mountaineers responded with goals from Brendan Lantieri and Noah Daniels to tie the score at two with 6:49 left. J. McMahon fired a low shot that got past Marks to give the Mount their first lead of the game at 3-2, but LaCalandra equalized about a minute later on a tight angle.

LIU scored two goals to start the second quarter and had a 5-3 lead. Jake Krieger scored his only goal of the game after he juked his defender and rifled a shot past Marks to cut the lead to one with 6:24 remaining. The Sharks added two more goals to expand the lead to 7-4, but Daniels found the back of the net on a counterattack before halftime to cut the deficit to two goals.

LIU scored goals 40 seconds apart to take a 9-5 lead, but the Mount responded with a 5-0 run that lasted seven minutes. The run was kicked off when Lantieri fired a shot and took a hit, but the ball found the back of the net. The Mount cut the lead to two on a counterattack from an LIU turnover that was worked around, and J. McMahon finished the opportunity. Kyle DeCrispino scored next for the Mount on a shot that was blasted under the crossbar, then J. McMahon tied the game at nine on a nice feed from Weick. The Mount took a 10-9 lead on DeCripsino's second goal when he tucked a shot near post that Marks could not stop. Snelders tied the game for LIU at ten with 1:40 left.

The Sharks got two quick goals again to take a 12-10 lead within the first three minutes of the fourth, then added another goal on the man advantage to take a three goal lead. LIU sealed the game with a late goal to reach the final score of 14-10.
