Box Score Staten Island, N.Y. (April 11, 2022)--Mount St. Mary's women's tennis closed out the regular season with a 4-3 victory over Wagner on Monday afternoon.  The Mount finishes the regular season with a 4-10 overall record and a 3-3 mark in NEC play.

Wagner (4-11, 1-4 NEC) took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.  Gabrielle Perraudin and Tara Dakic edged the Mount's Adriana Barney and Ana Alvarez-Storni, 6-4, at the No. 1 doubles  spot.  The Mount earned a win at No. 2 doubles with Shirley Liang and Riya Mathur combining for a 6-2 win over Alegra D'Allesandro and Samantha Lugtu.  At No. 3 doubles, Wagner's Paula Ysabelle Uy and Fidan Khallizade topped the Mount's Amber Policare and Ryan McCarthy, 6-2.

In singles play, Policare rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Perraudin while Mathur topped Lugtu, 7-6, 6-3, at the No. 4 spot in the lineup.  Alvarez-Storni cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over D'Allessandro at No. 5 singles while McCarthy edged Uy in three set, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 for a win at No. 6 singles.

The Mountaineers head to the NEC Championships which will be held April 14-16 at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J.  The Mount's seed and opponent will be released later this week.
