Women’s Soccer Completes 2022 Season at Quinnipiac

EMMITSBURG, Md.  (October 26, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer wrapped up their 2022 season in Connecticut Wednesday, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

Concluding its season at 3-6-7 (2-5-3 MAAC), the Mount took points in twice the number of contests as the previous year. The team ends their first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with an eighth-place finish, winning the tiebreaker over Saint Peter's thanks to a head-to-head win.

Quinnipiac has claimed at least a share of the regular season title by virtue of their victory over the Mountaineers.

After battling to a scoreless tie, Quinnipiac scored three times in the opening 15 minutes of the second half to secure the win. The Mount's best opportunity came in the 27th minute on a shot from Madison Bee, which was saved by the Bobcats' Sofia Lopinoso. Mountaineers' goalkeeper Arden Lembryk did her best to keep her team's hopes alive with five saves.

Olivia Scott broke the deadlock for the Bobcats with a score 52 seconds out of the half. Scott would tally another in the 56th minute, followed by Paige LaBerge in the 59th minute.

With the season coming to its close, Mount St. Mary's boasts Kalli Bell as their points leader with nine and Luisangely Navas its goal leader at three. An almost even split in net with Lembryk and Drew Camp saw Camp lead the team in saves with 46.

Information on the 2023 season will become available in the coming months.
