EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 24, 2021) – Northeast Conference play kicks off Sunday for the Mount St. Mary's men's soccer program as they make the trek up to Rhode Island for a match with Bryant.
MOUNT UPDATE
Defense played a huge role in the Mount's victory last Wednesday against George Washington. 12 of the Colonials' 21 shots were blocked or saved, and
Alek Wroblewski tallied a second half goal to clinch a 1-0 victory.
Ethan Russell secured his first win as a collegiate keeper.
Wroblewski continues to increase his lead in points with seven, and
Juan Molina earned the assist on the goal to tie with
Jesus Salazar for the second-most points.
ABOUT BRYANT
Following an 0-3 start, Bryant collected its first win on September 8
th against Brown and backed it up with draws versus Harvard and Marist. The Bulldogs have eight goals this year, led by Ben Williams with three. Williams scored twice in the win over Brown.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Mount leads all-time, 4-1-2, but Bryant has shifted the series towards their favor in the past three matches. The Bulldogs won a 2019 meeting and tied matches in 2018 and last spring.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Mountaineers return home Thursday (Sept. 30) to host Central Connecticut. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. from Waldron Family Stadium.
