EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 21, 2021) – In the Spring 2021 season opener, Mount St. Mary's battled George Washington to double overtime. Minutes between taking points from the match either by win or draw, the Colonials netted a late goal to hand the Mount a defeat. This Wednesday, the Mountaineers get the chance to avenge that loss when they host George Washington.
MOUNT UPDATE
Jack Shearer scored his first goal as a Mount player Friday at Penn, but three goals in a 10-minute span helped the Quakers earn the 5-1 victory.
Alek Wroblewski leads the team in points with five, followed by
Jesus Salazar with three.
Mount stands eighth in the conference, facing a tough schedule in which opponents posted a combined record of 21-15-5 this season. All that changes with Northeast Conference play starting this weekend. Positive results for the team can transform the standings as conference games are the first determination for seedings come tournament time. The top four teams in the NEC make the playoffs.
