- Mount St. Mary's lost at Fairleigh Dickinson, 85-75, on Saturday to fall to 9-13 overall and 5-4 in the Northeast Conference. Jalen Gibbs led the Mount with 27 points while Damian Chong Qui added 16 points and six rebounds. The Mountaineers staged a furious rally, scoring 42 points over the final 9:38 of the game to cut a 34-point deficit to single digits, but ran out of time to complete the comeback.
- Mount St. Mary's scored 58 points in the second half of the loss at Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. It was the highest scoring half by a Mount team since posting 59 points in the first half of a 104-84 win at Norfolk State on January 3, 2014. It was the highest scoring second half by the Mount since pouring in 59 points in an 87-82 loss at Quinnipiac on Feb. 6, 2003.
- Jalen Gibbs matched his season high with 27 points in the loss at FDU. Gibbs hit 10-of-21 from the field and was 3-of-9 from three-point range in the game. Gibbs is second on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game.
- This is the second matchup between the Mount and Long Island this season. The Mountaineers downed the Sharks, 82-73, in double-overtime at Knott Arena on January 4. Damian Chong Qui had a career-high 26 points while Malik Jefferson added 23 for the Mount in the victory.
- Damian Chong Qui has scored in double figures in each of the past five games, including back-to-back 16-point efforts this past weekend. Chong Qui is averaging 14.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists over the five-game stretch, shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 53.3 percent from three-point range and 80.6 percent at the foul line. He leads the Mount in scoring this season at 12.3 points per game.
