  • Mount St. Mary's fell at Sacred Heart, 58-53, in a defensive battle on Thursday.  Vado Morse led the Mount with 20 points while Damian Chong Qui added 16.  Sacred Heart used an 11-0 first-half run to take a 31-20 lead at the half.  The Mount was able to cut the deficit to three points in the second half, but could get no closer. The Mount shot 34.0 percent from the floor in the game, including 6-of-28 (.214) in the first half.
  • Vado Morse led the Mount with 20 points in the five-point loss at Sacred Heart.  Morse has scored 20 points in each of the past two games, and is averaging 19.7 points over the past three contests, hitting 11-of-23 (.478) from three-point range over that span.
  • Damian Chong Qui has scored in double figures in each of the past four games, including 16 in the five-point loss at Sacred Heart on Thursday.  Chong Qui, who is averaging a team-high 12.1 points per game, has scored in double figures 13 times this season.
  • Nana Opoku leads the Mountaineers with 33 blocks this season.  He leads the Northeast Conference with 2.63 blocks per game in NEC games this season.  Opoku has tallied 18 blocks over the Mount's past six games, including a season-high six against Central Connecticut.
  • The Mountaineers are one of the top defensive teams in the Northeast Conference.  Overall, the Mount is second in the NEC in scoring defense (64.6), third in field goal percentage defense (.418) and fourth in defensive efficiency (104.3).  In NEC play, the Mountaineers lead the league in field goal percentage defense (.402), are second in scoring defense (61.6) and third in defensive efficiency (95.7).
  • The Mount is 5-2 over its past seven games with a +7.6 scoring margin and a +4.0 rebound margin.  The Mountaineers are averaging 68.6 points while allowing 61.0 over the seven-game span.
  • The Mount is back in action on Thursday, February 6, with a 7:00 p.m. matchup at Long Island.
